The development will be one of a new generation of ultra-sustainable integrated retirement communities, and will save an estimated 3,500 tonnes of CO2 by repurposing an existing building.

The operations will be all electric and will be net-zero carbon, and no fossil fuels will be used on the property.

We will consider a variety of strategies to ensure our targets are met and sustainability is placed at the heart of the new development. Innovations will include substantial solar electricity generation, electric heat pumps, low-carbon building materials, pioneering construction techniques, and other strategies to reduce both embodied and operational carbon.

Social impact

Alongside environmental sustainability, the team is equally focused on generating positive social value through the project.

We will work with the community and local organisations to identify relevant local issues and how we can provide support to achieve positive outcomes, from jobs and skills deficits to health and wellbeing.
