The Site

The Members Hill site is located on Brooklands Road, Weybridge.

The site forms part of a small cluster of office buildings on the northern side of Brooklands Road. Part of the proposal site comprises a 1980s office building, that rises to 5 storeys with a basement and roof plant. Adjacent is an associated multilevel car park, as well as areas of surface level car parking. The rest of the site consists of woodland, part of which is designated as Ancient Woodland, and access roads. The site is also within an area of high archaeological potential.

To the north and east of the site there are residential dwelling houses and the St George’s Hill golf course. To the site’s west are office buildings with car parking and the Brooklands Museum. Part of the site is built upon the north eastern corner of the former Brooklands racetrack, the remaining parts of which are now designated as a Scheduled Ancient Monument, part of which falls within the site. The racetrack has informed the evolution of the area, and in recognition of this the Brooklands Conservation Area was designated, which covers the surrounding area including the site.
