Earlier this year, Later Living operator Amicala received planning permission for the redevelopment of the 10-acre site at Members Hill, Brooklands Road in Weybridge.
The permission will repurpose the existing buildings and deliver 3 new buildings to provide an Integrated Retirement Community (IRC). These communities bring considerable benefits for the health and wellbeing of older people, as well as extensive wider social and community benefits, including significant benefits to the NHS and social care system, and benefits to the wider housing market.
Amicala has made some minor amendments to the approved scheme to ensure the scheme fully complies with the latest fire safety and building regulations and to further tailor its extra care offer for the Weybridge market. These changes are not significant but will offer even more benefits to the Weybridge community and future residents of Members Hill. View the updates here.
The development focuses on the creation of communal spaces and activities for both the residents on-site and the wider community. This approach not only helps alleviate feelings of anxiety and loneliness but also enables residents to enjoy a sociable, active and fulfilling later years in their lives. . Members Hill, Weybridge will deliver:
- The refurbishment of vacant office space, providing new purpose-built, age-appropriate homes.
- A sympathetic and sustainable development delivering the highest environmental standards.
- Care for older members of the community, in a place the whole community can use and enjoy.
- Conservation of ancient woodland and improvements to biodiversity.
- As a result of the Government’s change to fire safety and building regulations, Amicala is bringing forward some minor amendments to the approved scheme. For more information click here.
